If we are indeed living in the last generations who will see Jesus return, if we are the ones who will be go through the tribulation; you can be sure they will try to take the Bible away from us because people who read and understand God's Word will not be willing to go along with the antichrist, one world order, mark of the beast, ect. If we hide God's Word in our hearts and commit it to memory they cannot take it away from us. They may remove the Bible from the public square, they might take it off the Internet and remove it from retail stores, they might even come for the Bible in our churches and in our homes but they cannot take it from our hearts and they cannot remove it from our memories. If we hide God's Word in our hearts and minds it is ours for all of eternity.
There was a Bible peddler who went over the pass to a remote mountain village where on his first night the family he staid with bought a Bible. The following morning feeling optimistic he walked through the village and attempted to hawk his wares but alas he sold not another soul was interested in his precious books. He could not stay long as winter was upon them and the pass would soon be snowed in and so after a few more days without a single sale with a promise to the family he had stayed with that he would return in the spring when the snows melted out of the pass he headed home feel discouraged and as if his trip up the mountain had been unsuccessful. But ten long years would pass by before he once again made it up the mountain pass to the remote village. He made his way to the house where he had stayed previously where he was received with great joy. Word of his arrival quickly spread throughout the village and early the following morning the people began to gather eager to purchase his Bibles but before he unpacked his cargo they had something to show him. One by one the villagers stood and began to recite scripture from memory. All throughout the day and long into the night they recited for to his amazement between them they had memorized the Bible several times over. They told him that when several years had gone by and he did not return as promised they began to fear lest something should happen to their only copy of God's Word and so they determined that they would commit it to memory each according to his or her ability from a few verses for the youngest of the school children to whole chapters and even entire books for those with the best memory retention.
If these villagers possessing only one copy of God’s Word between them could commit it to memory surly we with our unlimited access to God's Word can also commit it to memory each according to our ability lest something should happen to our access to God's Word.
